Meal Plans

We offer customized meal plans based on your dog's specific nutritional requirements. Our gourmet dog food is delivered frozen to your door on a regular basis.

Which one should I choose?

Deliveries

We are currently delivering to AL, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MS, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA, WV and Washington DC.

Payments

For your security and convenience, we use Authorize.net for credit/debit card transactions.

Delivery

Deliveries will be made every 2, 3 or 4 weeks.
If a change in the delivery schedule is needed, dog owner should contact Joy in the Bowl so we can work on some options.
Delivery fee and taxes are included for meal plans.
Food is sent frozen in a cardboard box with insulation.

Recipes

It is possible to have half and half orders with both Pork and Chicken Gourmet recipes depending on the stock availability.
Our diets are balanced to meet the requirements of healthy dogs (puppies and adults). Dogs with pre-existing conditions (e.g. diseases) may need a different balanced diet depending upon the condition.
Our diets are not formulated for weight management, although it meets obese prone calorie requirements. Before under-feeding your dog, we encourage dog owner to reach out to Joy in the Bowl for our recommendation.

Feeding instructions

Portions weight are adjusted according to your dog's daily needs and meal plan chosen.
- Feed your dog one pouch per day.
- We recommend dividing the total daily amount into two meals.
For 50%, 75% and 100% meal plans, transitioning phase lasts up to 12 days and aims to adapt your dog's digestive tract to the new food.
- There will be numbered pouches in the first box delivered to facilitate this process:
  - 1-4 days: 75% current food, 25% Joy in the Bowl
  - 5-8 days: 50% current food, 50% Joy in the Bowl
  - 9-12 days: 25% current food, 75% Joy in the Bowl
  - After 12 days: 100% Joy in the Bowl
- From the second delivery, full plan will be delivered.
If the quantity needs to be changed (e.g. adjust body condition or sign up for other meal plan), dog owner should contact Joy in the Bowl so we can review the change and send new plan information.

Conservation

Food should be stored frozen in the freezer.
The plastic pouch is freezer safe.
For convenience, place frozen food in the fridge 24 hours before feeding your dog.
Unopened portions can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
Refrigerate unused portions for a maximum of 2 days.

Serving Instructions

Although optional, we recommend warming up the food prior to feeding your dog.
For better heat distribution, stir the food in the dog's bowl.
The plastic pouches are microwave safe. Make sure it is not overheated.

Payments

Payments can be made by debit or credit card.
Joy in the Bowl does not record or keep dog owner debit/credit card information. Process is made through secure payment platform (authorize.net).
For the first delivery, Joy in the Bowl will send an invoice to the dog owner’s email requesting payment via internet no later than 3 days prior delivery.
After the first delivery, payments will go into a recurring schedule in the same debit/credit card as the first delivery.
Card payment is charged 3 to 5 days prior delivery.
If your card is declined, Joy in the Bowl will reach out looking for alternatives.
Deliveries will be made only after payment confirmation.
If debit/credit card information needs to be changed, dog owner should contact Joy in the Bowl. We will then send out a new invoice and from this invoice we will set up new recurrent billing.

Meal Plan Enrollment & Cancellation

Your dog’s information should be submitted via the Joy in the Bowl website by selecting "Meal Plan Form".
There is no minimum meal plan enrollment time and no cancellation fee.
Cancellations can be processed up until the card is charged.
Dog owner will be unsubscribed if payment was not made twice in a row.
Unsubscribed dog owner may not be able to go back instantaneously to meal plan in case of a waiting list.
Joy in the Bowl gourmet dog food can be purchased as a one-time purchase at our online store. However, the meal plan benefits will not be applied:
- Daily meals will not be customized for your dog (will be sold in 1 lb. pouches instead).
- Free delivery will not be available.
- Automatic recurring payment withdrawal will not be set up.
